Solo Shift was founded by Wedeh Guar, a passionate life coach, counselor, and advocate who knows firsthand the challenges of being a 9-to-5 working single mother. Born in Liberia, West Africa, Wedeh moved to the United States at 15 and became a single mother at 17. She faced homelessness, worked grueling warehouse jobs, navigated failed relationships, and endured the unspoken struggles of solo parenting while juggling a full-time job, and getting to learn herself as a mother and a woman.

After overcoming these obstacles and transforming her own life, Wedeh realized there was a lack of practical resources for single mothers like her. That’s when she created Solo Shift—a podcast designed to be more than just inspiration; it’s a lifeline.

With actionable strategies, expert advice, and a supportive community, the Solo Shift podcast empowers single moms to shift from survival mode to thriving. Each episode connects listeners to a network of women who understand their journey and offer the tools they need to succeed.
